Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

I’ve had quite a productive day today. We went to San Diego Zoo which was ace, on par with Chester (and the one in France Nimrod, what’s the name?) even! The highlights were seeing real live pandas and watching the tigers play.

After that we got the bus over to the beach which looked pretty cool but it was quite late by then and things were wrapping up so we got a beaut burger while watching the waves crash. The burger was earned though as we’ve ate healthy the past couple of days on pasta and homemade tortillas.

Now we’re just taking it easy in the hostel but will probably go for a couple in a bit as there is a bar around the corner which was voted one of the top 20 dives in America, this appeals. Anyway we are in the famous Gaslamp District in San Diego and haven’t been in a single bar yet.

Simon has a couple of weeks to kill before he flies to Belize for the Central America leg of his trip, so he is probably going to come to Yosemite and Santa Barbara with me, he was going to San Fran anyway. If his train ticket allows it he might come to LA for a day too as he never got to Universal Studios and I plan on going.

So Los Angeles tomorrow readers, I don’t think it will be my sort of place but it is somewhere that has to be experienced none the less.

I didn’t take my phone out today so here is a cool photo I took of a church in New Orleans instead.
